5 The border of the children of Ephraim, according to their families.

10 And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day and have become forced laborers.

Cities of the Levites Joshua 21:20-21

20 And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, the rest of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their [c]lot from the tribe of Ephraim.

For they gave them Shechem with its common-land in the mountains of Ephraim (a city of refuge for the slayer), Gezer with its common-land.

Conquest of the Southland Joshua 10:31-33

31 Then Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, to Lachish; and they encamped against it and fought against it.

And the Lord delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, who took it on the second day, and struck it and all the people who were in it with the edge of the sword, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua struck him and his people, until he left him none remaining.

Solomon’s Achievements 1 Kings 9:15-16

15 And this is the reason for the labor force which King Solomon raised: to build the house of the Lord, his own house, [a]the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

(Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer and burned it with fire, had killed the Canaanites who dwelt in the city, and had given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.)
